Sunday Night, October 26 Antique Blues w/Bill Nolan
6:00 PM Antique Blues with host Bill Nolan
Bill is joined in the studio for an interview with Christine Ohlman (a/k/a/ the flashy, gritty “Beehive Queen”) who will be discussing her upcoming album Re-Hive, a retrospective of recordings with Rebel Montez, and two brand-new studio recordings of Chess Chicago blues chestnuts that feature Cliff Goodwin on lead guitar (Goodwin, who suggested the title “Re-Hive,” replaced Eric Fletcher following Fletcher’s untimely death in 2006.) Ohlman counts among her credits a long-time stint as vocalist with the Saturday Night Live Band, appearances on Grammy-nominated CDs and concert dates with the likes of George Harrison, Chrissie Hynde, Big Brother & The Holding Company and Al Green, among many others. Her recordings with Christine Ohlman & Rebel Montez (The Hard Way, Radio Queen, Wicked Time and Strip) are critically acclaimed for their truth-telling songwriting and blue-eyed soul-queen vocalizing.
