Food and Water Watch

8:00 p.m. - Jim Motavalli Food and Water Watch will be appearing to talk about the group's new report "Take Back the Tap: Why Choosing Tap Water Over Bottled Water is Better for your Health, Your Pocketbook and the Environment." As the group points out, "Consumers are wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars on bottled water because they think it is healthier or safer than its counterpart from the tap. It is not. Tap water is safe and highly regulated and monitored. In addition, the production and distribution of bottled water causes a host of equity and environmental problems." Tap water, by the way, costs $0.002 per gallon, compared to bottled water prices of 89 cents to $8.26 per gallon. Technorati tags: , , , , ,
