Butler, one of America’s most celebrated soldiers, later became the nation’s most outspoken anti-imperialist and co-authored "War Is a Racket". Hans Schmidt has taught history at universities around the world and is the author of "Maverick Marine, General Smedley Butler and the Contradictions of American Military History". “History Counts” is broadcast on the first Sunday of the month at 10 PM.
