    1. Author Peter Van Buren, a 24-year veteran of the State Department discusses the current military offensive and successful advance by ISIS Sunni insurgents in Iraq, reflecting on his experience serving for one year during the Iraq war recorded in his book, "We Meant Well: How I Helped Lose the Battle for the Hearts and Minds of the Iraqi People." 
    2. Rachel Tabachnick, a fellow at the Boston-based social justice think tank Political Research Associates examines recent violent incidents by armed, right wing activists in the context of the danger posed by extremist anti-government groups -- and the support they receive from both GOP politicians and right wing radio talk show hosts, i.e the expressions of support for the armed militia group members who gathered at the Bundy Ranch in Nevada.

Jim Dean, chair of the group Democracy for America, assesses the primary defeat of GOP majority leader Eric Cantor by Tea Party candidate Dave Brat, and how this electoral upset could change the political alignment of Democrats and Republicans in this year's mid-term Congressional elections and beyond.
