Benefit Concerts This Week in Newtown and Bridgeport Friday, November 18, 8:00 PM The Breakfast and Cosmic Jibaros at the Edmond Town Hall in Newtown, CT. Social awareness takes on a certain power when mixed with pulsating rhythm; shake the soul, and the mind will follow. The Bridgeport-based Cosmic Jibaros embody this creed, for the seven-piece Latin rock unit will often cause emphatic dance and curious ponder at the same time. The evening continues with The Breakfast. The Jammy Award winner is poised to bring their singular brand of music to a much wider audience and you have a chance to hear the band that critics and musicians have been raving about.Tickets are $20.00 and proceeds benefit WPKN. Sunday, November 20, at 6:00 PM The Love At Work Revue will be performing for a WPKN benefit show at the Acoustic Cafe in Bridgeport, CT . The Love at Work Band is a Litchfield County musical group that performs original and timeless songs with guitars, fiddle, harmonicas, recorder, stand up bass and lyrical vocals by Kath Bloom, Stan Bronski, and Tom Hanford, with guest vocalist Heidi Randall.
