Second Saturday Magazine

Saturday, April 14th, 10:00 a.m. - Bob Johnson, Second Saturday Magazine 10:00 AM Guest Bob Tarte has written another fowl book, so to speak. His first book was called "Enslaved By Ducks." His recent offering is called "Fowl Weather." With biting humor Tarte tells us again that as humans we have a lot to learn about sharing the planet with our fine feathered friends. 10:30 AM This is Not the Life I Ordered co-author Michealene Cristini Risley will talk about how this collection of stories, wisdom, and practical advice, was created by women who held regular meetings around a kitchen table. From the website: "Whether trying to recover from overwhelming hardship or to celebrate a triumph, readers will find four amazing women to share hope and inspiration..." 11:00 AM Rebecca Walker will talk about her new book "Baby Love: Choosing Motherhood After a Lifetime of Ambivalence." Author Catherine Newman says "Walker sways on a kind of scary, sublime suspension bridge, stretched between being somebody's child and becoming somebody's mother... Thanks to her unique vision, the familiar views along the way become nothing short of astounding." url: http://www.rebeccawalker.com/books_baby_love.htm 11:45 AM Guest Dan Sosland earned his Law Degree from Cornell and worked for a number of years in New York before forming ENVIRONMENT NORTHEAST (ENE) with other Environmental Lawyers. He co-wrote "The Comprehensive Roadmap to Reducing Global Warming Pollution in the Northeast and Canada" with ENE partner Michael Stoddard. It is being hailed as a landmark document in the field. 1:00 PM Singer song-writer Jenifer Jackson is back in the studio to perform live. THE OUTSKIRTS OF A GIANT TOWN is her new CD. Here is what one blogger/critic had to say about her music: "She hits me high, she hits me low, and she absolutely kills me in the middle. The way she sings makes the most cynical dreamer want to fall in love again, the high risk notwithstanding." Technorati tags: , , , , ,
