Sunday, February 22, 1:00 p.m. - Live From...Where? Sunday February 17th at 1 PM, WPKN presents a concert of virtuosic guitar broadcast live from The Space in Hamden. Shawn Persinger will be performing solo and with mandolinist David Miller. Folk, rock, avant-garde -- these players do it all...sometimes in one song! Shawn's guests are Ron Anthony, Mr. Americana -- blues, storytelling and hard driving, simultaneous, rhythm and lead guitar. And Rob Messore -- a legend in the New Haven music scene with a fondness for tradtional folk and Irish balanced by playful and challenging new ideas. The concert will be broadcast live and you're welcome to be part of the studio audience. It's free -- on the radio or in person. Friday Feb 22, Milford Center for the Arts, 40 Railroad Ave, Milford CT WPKN presents Connecticut guitarist Mike Minasi with Bassist Phil Bowler and Jean-luc Ponty drummer Thierry Arpino. Michael will be performing all original works from his CD entitled Body Resilient with new pieces from his upcoming CD. The evening will be a WPKN benefit and include a dinner buffet. Thursday, February 28, 8:00 p.m. - Live From...Where? WPKN’s live radio concert series returns to New Haven on February 28th with violinist Harald Haugaard and guitarist Morten Alfred Høirup, coming from Denmark to New Haven!
