Live performances on the air tonight

Jim Motavalli will host two performances this evening:

• 6:45 p.m. - Gary Higgins, who made the excellent Red Hash album circa 1973, will make a rare live radio appearance. Red Hash has been reissued on CD, and Gary (who lives in Northern Connecticut) will appear with full band.
• 9:00 p.m. - Judy Handler and Mark Levesque will play twin acoustic guitars in a jazzy, Django-ish mode. "Their music is passionate, lyrical, and delightfully beyond category. These talented artists create a unique sound by skillfully blending many musical influences including Brazilian, Latin, swing, gypsy, European, and classical."
