John Harrison talks about his often humorous and at times terrifying book
Off the Map. In 1987 he and his wife Heather traveled through the Brazilian Amazon back country to survey the unhabited Jari river. He and his wife got lost for several weeks. Harrison has been profiled by National Geographic and is considered an expert on jungle exploration, as he has chaired tropical forest workshops at the Royal Geographic Society.
