Sometimes Classical – at 12 Noon

On Wednesday, January 10 at 12 PM, Richard Epstein, on his show “Sometimes Classical”, will be talking with composer and teacher Paul Moravec, and musical historian Vivian Perlis about “The Composures Project”. This is a series of Concerts and Conversations which is hosted by the Westport (CT) Arts Center. The series begins the next evening with a conversational talk at the Westport Library and continues with concerts featuring John Corigliano, the Kronos Quartet, Fred Hersch, the Lark Quartet, Derek Bermel., Ben Allison, Tanya Leon, and Trio Solisti. Moravec won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for his composition “tempest Fantasy”, which will close out the entire series in late April at a concert in Westport. Perlis has recently published “Composers Voices from Ives to Ellington: An Oral History of American Music”, and teaches at the Yale School of Music. www.westportartscenter.org Technorati tags: , , , , ,
