From colonial resistance to British taxation in the 18th century to present, consumer boycotts have played an important role in American history. Boycotts were an essential tool in the early labor movement of the turn of the century, the civil rights movement of the 1950's and modern movements to protect the environment. Our guest is the country's foremost authority on consumer boycotts, Professor Monroe Friedman.
