With 88.7 FM now so provocatively occupied, this region finds itself with an array of quality FM radio down in what always has been known as the public broadcasting ghetto, the far left on the dial. WCNI, broadcasting at Connecticut College, is at 90.9; WHUS, from the University of Connecticut, is at 91.7; and WRIU, from the University of Rhode Island, is at 90.3. They all have their moments, but none of them cruises the world of music, culture, Free Speech Radio News and whatever the hell else moves them, quite like WPKN.
