Tonight on Counterpoint hosted by Scott Harris

Counterpoint hosted by Scott Harris heard every Monday between 8:00-10:00 pm.
  • David Korten, president of the People-Centered Development Forum, chair of the board of YES! Magazine and author of "The Great Turning," "The Post-Corporate World," and "When Corporations Rule the World" -- discusses his newest book, "Agenda for a New Economy: From Phantom Wealth to Real Wealth."
  • Karl Frisch, Senior Fellow with Media Matter for America, discusses how the U.S. media is covering the Congressional debate on Barack Obama's stimulus bill, with emphasis on the economic myths disseminated and the conservative bias of guest lists appearing on major TV outlets.
  • Kevin Bankston, a senior staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) discusses recent allegations from former National Security Agency Analyst Russell Tice that President Bush's warrantless surveillance program was monitoring all of America's communications, with special targeting of U.S. journalist's phone conversations, email and faxes. EFF is challenging the constitutionality of a federal law aimed at granting immunity to telecommunications companies participating in illegal domestic surveillance.
  • Juan Figueroa, president Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut, discusses his group's health care proposal, "SustiNet: Health Care We Can Count On," which ensures everyone in Connecticut has quality, affordable health care regardless of pre-existing conditions, job changes, self-employment, divorce and other life changes.
